【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsaresuitableforsettingspecificationsonlineardetergentalkylatesandforqualitycontrolwherethesealkylatesaremanufacturedorareusedinamanufacturingprocess.Thegaschromatographytestisusefulinidentifyinglineardetergentalkylatesproducedbythevariousmanufacturingprocessesandfordeterminingtheapplicabilityofalineardetergentalkylatetoaparticularenduse.TestconditionshavebeenoptimizedforresolutionoftheC-9toC-15lineardetergentalkylatesandthepresenceofhigherorlowerchainlengthswillbereadilyapparentbutmayproduceerroneousresults.Thetetralinstructureshavenotbeensufficientlyidentifiedtoallowdeterminationoftetralins,andsmallunidentifiedcomponentsarereportedastetralinsandunidentifieds.Somelineardetergentalkylatesuseamanufacturingprocesswithanorganicchlorideasaprecursor.Thistestmaybeusedtoensurethatthechloridecontentofthealkylateisnotexcessiveforaparticularenduse.Theplatinum-cobaltcolortestisusefulindeterminingthatthecolorofthelineardetergentalkylatewillnotcontributetothecoloroftheenduseproduct.Therefractiveindexandspecificgravitytestsarepossibleaidsintheidentificationoflineardetergentalkylatesandinevaluatingalkylatesforgrosscontaminants.Thewatertestissuitablefordeterminingthatlineardetergentalkylatesdonotcontainamountsofwaterdeleterioustofurtherprocessing.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverchemicalandphysicaltestsapplicabletolineardetergentalkylates,evaluatingthosepropertieswhichcharacterizelineardetergentalkylateswithrespecttoitssuitabilityfordesireduses.Note18212;Lineardetergentalkylatescompriseslinearalkylbenzenespreparedbyvaryingprocessesofvaryinglinearalkylchainlength.Thealkylateissulfonatedforsurfactantuse,thelargestapplicationbeingindetergentproducts.Carefulcontroloflineardetergentalkylatecharacteristicsisdesired;duringsulfonation,variationsofthesulfonatecanoccurthatmayresultineitherdesirableorundesirableend-useproperties.
