【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesmethodsforsamplingweardebrisgeneratedbytotaljointprosthesesinhumansandinjointsimulators.Itspecifiestheapparatus,reagentsandtestmethodstoisolate,characterizeandquantifybothpolymerandmetalweardebrisfromsamplesoftissueexcisedfromaroundthejointprosthesis,obtainedatrevisionsurgeryorpostmortem,andfromsamplesofjoint-simulatortestfluids.ThemethodgiveninthisInternationalStandarddoesnotquantifythelevelofweartheimplantproduces,nordoesitdeterminetheamountofwearfromanyparticularsurface.ThisInternationalStandarddoesnotcoverthebiologicaleffectofweardebrisorprovideamethodforevaluationofbiologicalsafety.ThemethodgiveninthisInternationalStandardisnotapplicabletothemeasurementofpoly(methylmethacrylate)(PMMA)debris.
